08 Mei 2020Telescopic linear unit with one toothed belt and two guides
We have fabricated a special telescopic linear unit to a customer in a panel factory. This linear unit is simply constructed. Our well-known LtC series has been assembled by us in the Netherlands for more than 23 years.
This series has a modular structure; a guide profile and a toothed belt drive are mounted on a base profile, usually 45 x 90. Depending on the application, the guide and the toothed belt size is determined. For this current application, the machine builder requested a unit with one profile and two slides which can move in opposite directions and run past each other. We were able to solve this problem by mounting a D10 guide wheel on both ends of a 45 x 90 aluminium profile. This allows the slides to move past each other.
One carriage is attached to one side of the toothed belt and by milling the profile open in this way the other side of the toothed belt will be accessible. The other carriage is connected to the tooth belt on the other side. When the motor is running the slides are moving in opposite directions and away from each other, they can also run past each other.
Ultimately, we managed to realize a nice total solution according to the customer’s wishes and desires
