Curling with Lineartechniek

Almotion tackles sports sector!

We have recently been able to supply linear units for a curling track! At Restaurant & party center De Postwagen in Tolbert, linear units from Almotion are used for the curling lanes. Here we used linear units of the modular series LTC. The units have a length of no less than 10 meters. The purpose of this linear guidance system is to return the curling stones smoothly and silently to the starting point.

The slides of this LTC series are driven by a three-phase motor gearbox from Groschopp, in combination with a frequency inverter from Fuji. All in all, this combination ensures that the linear unit starts nice and slow, until it has ‘pushed’ all the stones. Only then it accelerates to 1 meter before the end of the stroke. This returns the stones to the players neatly.
