Cold long units
08 Februari 2022We received this photo from a customer from the USA. The first crop spraying installations with our LTC units have been installed on the cold American soil. Despite the cold, testing went well. These linear units are no less than 6 meters long. The linear units move back and forth at a high speed to move the nozzles via a cable system.
Toothed belt with extra high pretension
This application requires an extra high pretension of the timing belt. This is due to the high force applied to the timing belt as the unit quickly reverses from a left to right motion. For this reason, the 'high power' version of the timing belt was chosen. It has extra thick steel cords in the polyurethane.
With a timing belt length of more than 6 meters, adjusting this high pretension is an extra challenge. We have created special tools to do this accurately.
Technical specifications
This linear unit is equipped with a stainless steel linear guide. There are 3 wheel carriages mounted in the rail to absorb the large forces. As a result, the slide has a length of 800 mm.
The running wheel guide is mounted on a 45×135mm aluminum profile, with oversized pulleys in a new end cap construction. The drive shafts are mounted with ring tension elements.
